National Director Jim Fitzpatrick ("Fitz")
I'm Jim Fitzpatrick ("Fitz") and love traveling with my partner Kara Helbling-Henry as full time RVers. I served 22 years in the Air Force as an Instructor Navigator (KC/RC-135s), Director of Training, Executive Officer, Air Command and Staff College Instructor and Inspector General. I retired in 2000 and bought a 500 acre hay/cattle ranch in Eastern Oregon. I worked in Mental Health at the VA in Roseburg Oregon, and served as a Veteran Service Officer for the State of Oregon. Full time for the last 2 1/2 years. I love being active in FMCA since hitting the road, and currently serve as the INTO Treasurer and the National Director for the Military Veteran Chapter. Kara and I have recently reconnected after 33 years. Kara is new to RVing, and excited to get involved in FMCA, and I am honored to serve as your National Director.

Alternate National Director
Secretary Marion Braum
After being a stay-at-home mom with 3 daughters, I earned a Masters in Mathematics which enabled me to teach at the college level and later be the manager of Underwriting, doing some actuarial work at Delta Dental Plan of Colorado.
We decided that full-time RVing would be our retirement and were able to start that in 2004, 8 yrs before we reached retirement age. Our full-timing in a Foretravel was preceded by a home in CO and a Safari Motorhome so we have been members of FMCA for over 20 yrs. We’ve been active members in the Habitat for Humanity & Roamin’ Catholics Chapters. Although those memberships continue we are now more active in Elks Internat’l & MVC.
I’ve tried to spearhead the Lap Robe Project that Dell started 2 yrs ago that he called Vet to Vet. I have a passion for crocheting and helping others in need. Taking the role of secretary in the Chapter will allow me to know more about our Chapter and Veteran activities and meet more members.

Tom Braum, Treasurer
Born and raised in a small town south of Pittsburgh, PA. Engineering and MBA degrees from University of Detroit.
Commissioned in the USCG Jan ’71. Served 3 years at CG Hdq, Washington DC working in the R&D group testing advanced Icebreaker prototypes and developing the Recreational Boating Safety manufacturing standards.
After discharge worked for 13 years in the auto industry in the Detroit area for all of the big 4 (at that time) doing design/durability engineering & testing and then facilities engineering/management.
Moved to the computer/telecom industry. Spent 18 years there and that is who moved us to the Denver Area where I was the construction manager for 14 mountain states. Also got a Masters of Telecom degree there.
After being fired for the last time because of the WorldCom takeover of MCI, I decided to just call it retirement and became a stay-at-home dad doing volunteering work. Of course, our three daughters were all grown and out of the house by then but they still kept me busy with repairs to their houses and cars.
When Marion got tired of me being a “Kept Man”, she retired and we hit the road in 2004. After 15 years we are still on the road for 7-8 months of the year leaving 4 months for skiing in Breckenridge CO, the only time the coach sits still for more than a week at a time. Ski seasons may be getting shorter in the future due to physical/medical limitations so we are exploring “snow birding” locations for a more normal RV lifestyle.
We have been members of FMCA for 25 years and active in the Habitat for Humanity and Roamin’ Catholics Chapters. Also, Member of the ELKS International Chapter and the Military Veterans Chapter, of course.
